According to a poll held by Kelly Blue Book drivers age 16-25 have chosen the Ford Mustang as their top pick of which car they would like to own. Not too surprising is the fact that their parents ranked the same car as the one they'd least like for their kids.

If you ask me this seems like a step in the "right direction". As a Mustang enthusiast I hate the current trend of big name advertisers going with what they believe is the "holy grail" of the automotive world: Import cars. Don't get me wrong, the current attendance numbers for import events proves that there are a great number of import enthusiasts out there, but at the same time it looks like this poll also proves that many if not most young drivers aren't import enthusiasts.

On the other hand the third place pick for most wanted car by 16-25 year olds was the Honda Civic with the Jeep Wrangler in second. I'm not sure if this shows that many young drivers would like a Civic or think that they should like a civic. Either way i'm sure that many of those who did pick the Civic as their car of choice actually got one because the poll also shows that the Honda Civic was the top pick by parents also.

Parents chose the Civic and Toyota Corolla as their top two picks as they were more concerned about "saftey, and practicality" according to Jack R. Nerad of KBB, while their children picked cars that were cool and sporty.
