| FRPP unveils new "Performance Packs" for 2005-2006 Mustang GT |
Ford Racing Performance Parts has unveiled their new line of performance parts for the 2005-2006 Mustang GT. This new of parts will be available in three "Performance Packs" which will allow the Mustang enthusiast to choose from a starter package that increases power, to a drag pack that hightens the Mustangs straight line performance, and a handling package which makes your 'stang a corner carver.
FR1 - Power Pack
The first package is the FR1, also known as the "Power Pack". The FR1 package "provides for more muscle car manners with a throatier exhaust note and an increase in horsepower due to new mass air meter and Ford Racing premium fuel calibration for the 4.6L 3V V-8 engine." According to FRPP "The equipment making up FR1 is bolt-on and can be managed by an experienced "do-it-yourselfer" in his or her garage." The result is an approximate 20 rear wheel horsepower increase. (which is about 325hp at the crank) The suggested retail price of this package is $899.00

-Pro-Cal tool with official Ford Racing calibration
FR2 - Drag Pack
The second package is the FR2, also known as the "Drag Pack". The FR2 package is for "enthusiasts that want more seat of the pants feel, and may visit their local drag strip on weekends." According to FRPP "provides the modular Mustang engine with that same big block performance. With the Drag Pack, you'll launch harder and be faster while maintaining factory drivability" and will shave a half second off your 1/4 mile times. The suggested retail price of this package is $1399.00

-4.10 ratio Ring and Pinion (part #M-4209-G410A)
-Gear Installation Kit (part #M-4210-A)
-Shorty Headers (part #M-9430-S19)
-Super Short Throw Shifter designed by Ford Racing and Hurst (part #M-7210-T)
-Performance Oil Filter (part #CM-6731-FL820)
-Pro-Cal tool with official Ford Racing calibration
FR3 - Handling Pack
The third package is the FR2, also known as the "Handling Pack". The FR2 package is meant to enhance either of the first two packages with various suspension ugrades. This package "will not only enhance the cornering ability of the Mustang on road or track, it will add to its classic good looks by giving the car an aggressive lowered stance. According to FRPP it's "A great way to add a little FR500C to your street Mustang!" The suggested retail price of this package is $1149.0
This package will lower the car approximately 1 1/2" and includes dampers that are tuned by Multimatic Motorsports; The 2005 championship winning Grand Am Cup race team.
