The most desirable year. This is the only year for this unique front end and headlamp configuration on the Mustang from 1964 to present. This one is the "R" code super Cobra-Jet drag pack car with the big shaft, close ratio 4 speed, 3:91 traction-lok differential in a nodular case, and drag pack suspension. This pony did 1/4 mile runs in the 13 second catagory "right-out-of-the-stable". There is no VIN stamping on this engine block to prove it's originality. However, the date code does correspond with the build date on the car. Also, the block date matches to both of the cylinder heads as well as the intake manifold. It sold new in Tennessee with only 4 made just like it. Documented by a deluxe Marti report and personal statistic report. It has had a color change.
