1969 Shelby GT500
1969 Shelby GT500

Lot: 1329.1

Drag Pack, 4-speed loaded with options. Rare Candy Apple Red with white interior deluxe, AM/FM stereo, tilt-away steering wheel, tinted glass, fold-down rear seat and power ventilation. This 428 Super Cobra Jet 4-speed close ratio has the extremely rare "W" Code 4:30 locking N-case rear end which is the lowest gears available from the factory. There were only 7 fastback Shelby's produced with 4-speed and 4:30 gears. Equipped also with oil cooler, competition suspension and staggered shocks. All Ford sheet metal and original Shelby fiberglass on a rust-free body. Car has all original body serial numbers, tags, Build Sheets and fully documented by SAAC and Marti. Matching numbers and date coded drivetrain. Fresh concours restoration by Martin Euler. Martin also restored the famous '68 Shelby EXP 500 Green Hornet. Also involved in overseeing the restoration was SAAC judge Ed Meyer, who did all final detailing. There were only 7 Shelby GT500 fastbacks ever built with a 4-speed and 4:30 rear end from factory. This has probably the most options of any of the 7 cars and easily one of the rarest Shelby Mustangs.
