1968 was a big year for Shelby Cobra Mustangs. With the growing Shelby demand, Ford assumed an increased role in the design, development, production, and marketing of Shelby. The result was a more refined high performance muscle car. 1968 also brought an all new, one year only version of the Shelby Cobra Mustang, The GT500 KR, king of the road. This king of the road is very well documented and is finished in its original color of highland green with a black bucket seat interior. It is powered by its original 428 Cobra Jet engine and a 4-speed transmission, both matching numbers and original. Equipment includes: power steering, power brakes, AM radio, visibility group, interior decor group, tachometer, Shelby 10-spoke wheels and much more. This very original and correct Shelby GT500 KR was concours restored in 2007 by nationally known Shelby restorer, Jim Cowles, and has not been driven 50 miles since that time. Over $100,000 was spent on the cost of the restoration alone. Own a time-capsule Shelby Cobra Mustang.
