| 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 |
Lot: 732
We purchased the car in November 1990 in Anchorage, Alaska. Returning home from a business trip, a conversation with a seatmate led to him saying his fishing buddy had an original BOSS 302 for sale back in Anchorage. A quick turn around trip to Anchorage led us to the car we had been hoping to find. An all original, no rust or bondo and very low mileage. But it was Metallic Green. As far as we know there were only 3 previous owners, one in Vancouver, WA, and two in Anchorage, AK. After a long sea voyage on a container ship to Tacoma, WA, and an enclosed truck ride, it was delivered to our Northern California home on the coast near Half Moon Bay on a 22 degree December night. At the end of this nearly 4,000 mile trip the car only received a light coating of road film. We hit the weekend car enthusiast show circuit in the Spring of '91 and won awards and recognition everywhere. Even won Second place Awards in Original Class at two VMOA (Vintage Mustang Owners Association) events under National judging rules. Also, awarded a Fourth at the 1995 Palo Alto Concours D'Elegance at Standford. The car has been trailered to any events more than 50 miles away, always covered, garaged and pampered for the last 17 years we have owned it. We even quickly learned to love the Green. The car is listed in the BOSS 302 Registry. It is also featured in "Mustang 35th Anniversary Collector's Edition" (pages 60 and 61) and "Mustang Chronicle" (page 94) published by 1999 Publications International, Ltd. The time has come to let go and let someone else experience the fun we had over the years. Our interest has turned from weekly car shows to seeing the US and the World. To the new owner, please continue the commitment we made to preserving and enjoying this exceptional example of a classic muscle car.
