1965 Shelby GT350 Re-creation

1965 Shelby GT350 Re-creation

Lot: 941

This Shelby re-creation was built by one of the best Shelby restoration shops in the country. The owner of the company wanted to build one of the baddest GT350s in the country that would outperform a modern car and pay tribute to Carroll Shelby's vision. This car was completely disassembled and media blasted. It was then placed on a rotisserie where it received over 400 hours of subtle body modifications by a certified Ford NASCAR fabricator which includes true side exhaust, a custom 4-point roll cage, '69 Shelby taillights, '66 Shelby front valance and hood , extensive uni-body enhancements and a NASCAR-style rear and quarter glass Lexan windows. The complete body of this car, including the underbody, was then covered in Porsche Guards Red with a white racing stripe. The drivetrain on this car is first-class starting with the engine, a NASCAR balanced and blue printed 347 with port matched aluminum heads producing over 475hp. Brand new T-5 transmission with center force clutch are attached to a new Tex racing 9" Ford 4:11 posi-traction rear end. All suspension components are modern upgrades with attention toward handling and ride improvements. There were no corners cut on this car with everything brand new. This car is completely dialed in and ready for any road tour or car show event. This car will out handle and out perform any modern Mustang built today with all the good looks of a vintage Shelby Mustang.
