1969 Shelby GT500 KR

Lot: 1248

This beautifully restored 1968 Shelby GT500 KR fastback Mustang has a numbers matching 428 CJ 360hp engine, C6 automatic transmission and 3.50 Trak-Lok rear end. It also comes with factory "Special" WT6066 yellow paint and black knitted bucket seats. It is documented to be 1 of only 85 built with this combination. Black stripes have been added to accent the awesome look. Every component is restored and in great working condition. In the restoration process, much attention to detail was placed on finishing the parts and components to their factory correct condition. The engine was restored to be nut and bolt correct per factory specs. All of the windows and glass are date code correct and in good condition. The interior was beautifully restored and correct. This Shelby is identified as Shelby SIN-04293 and comes highly documented with the original Build Sheet, Elite and Deluxe Marti Reports, a copy of the original Window Sticker and is 1 of 1,053 Shelby Cobra GT500 KR fastbacks ever built. This Shelby has been visually inspected by World Wide Muscle Cars in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who is a Premier Shelby Mustang Restorer and has documented this Shelby fastback as having the original numbers matching and date and casting correct engine, C6 automatic transmission as well as the frame, body, engine bay and door tags all matching. This car has the original and correct Shelby VIN dash tag on the passenger side that correctly identifies this 1968 Shelby GT500KR Fastback as #4293, where many supposed Shelbys are missing their ID tag. This car has been mildly upgraded with larger but correct wheels and tires to allow for adding 4-wheel disc brakes for better braking performance. The Elite Marti Report documents the original dealer of record as #15B111-B.J. Werner Inc. of 485 River Dr., Garfield NJ 07026. This car is also equipped with the following equipment and options: GT equipment group, power disc brakes, shoulder harnesses, black knit decor bucket seats, visibility group, sport deck rear seat, fully functional tilt-pop steering column, tach and trip odometer, clock and AM radio all of which have been restored and in good working condition, interior decor group, remote mirror and more. Now is your chance to own a beautifully restored and numbers matching piece of history that was a part of the Carroll Shelby dream.
