| 2011 Mustang Information Leaked |
Update: On November 30th 2009 Ford Motor Company unveiled the 2011 Ford Mustang V6 at the LA Auto Show. The V6 Mustang features a new 305 horsepower DOHC 3.7L engine, two new 6 speed transmissions, a dual exhaust system, and an expected 30mpg. Unfortunately the 2011 Ford Mustang GT did not make an appearance at the 2009 LA Auto Show. Word is that Ford may be holding that vehicle back for a reveal at the Detroit North American International Auto Show in mid January 2010.
Earlier reports from Ford execs affirm that the 2011 Ford Mustang and and all its juicy details will be officially made available at the LA Auto Show on December 4th. However thanks to a member of the GMinsidenews.com forum a few details have leaked out a little early. Apparently this person was able to access the fleet distribution news bulletin which lists the 2011 Mustang orders opening on January 18th 2010 with first production starting March 15th. Thats pretty early considering the car will only be debuting in just over two weeks.
The report goes further to supply details about the car itself, such as the availability of an SVT performance package which consists of new 19" wheels, rear spoiler with GF (which is assumed to be a Gurney Flap), stripe delete option, and 3.73 limited slip rear end. Things are further sweetened with options like a Brembo brake package, 6 speed automatic transmission, three different 19" wheel options, and the "402A" package which is supposedly the return of the California Special (GT/CS)!
Although the bulletin didn't list an engine for the 2011 Mustang GT we still expect to see it packed to the gills with the "Coyote" 400hp 5.0L V8. The 2011 Shelby GT500, on the other hand, is still listed as having a supercharged 5.4L V8. I guess we won't be seeing that rumored twin turbo GT500 this year.
