Absolute Auction and Realty has announced an online auction for a one off New York Yankess Edition 2010 Ford Mustang GT "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a one of a kind commemorative collector car," said auctioneer Rob Doyle.
According to Doyle the vehicle was originally given away in a tri-state sweepstakes drawing to commemorate the opening of the new Yankees Stadium earlier this year. "The World Series win for the Yankees this year only adds to the provenance of this unique collector car. Plus, the dashboard is signed by the 2009 SI Sportsman of the Year, Derek Jeter."
"This is a fantastic opportunity," commented Doyle. "The original winner of the vehicle, a lifetime Yankees fan, has commissioned us to auction the car so that he can put the proceeds towards the education of his children. This is the investment opportunity of a lifetime for sports memorabilia collectors and Yankees fans alike. There is no duplicate to this car. There is only one."
This isn't the first time a New York Yankees Edition Ford Mustang has been built. In early 2005 the Tri-State Ford dealers made a small run of special edition Yankees Mustangs for sale and also gave one away in a drawing. Many of the vehicles built were later sold on ebay. This one-of-a-kind 2010 Mustang GT has less than 1,000 miles on the odometer and comes complete with all paperwork validating the authenticity of the car including copies of the publicity pictures.
