1966 Mustang GT350SR at Barrett Jackson

Lot: 1228.1

Carroll Shelby and his team took the performance world by storm in 1965 with the Shelby GT350SR. Created to win the Sports Car Club of America, B/Production road racing class, only 37 of those fierce Mustang based cars were built that year. Each had an upgraded motor, strengthened chassis, lightened body, enhanced cooling, revised suspension, high performance tires and race prepped brakes. The GT350R was an instant winner, capturing its class every year from 1965-1967. Four decades later, Carroll Shelby and Unique Performance have teamed up to once again transform 1965 Ford Mustangs into the ultimate poly car. This GT350SR is a modern evolution of its legendary ancestor. Featuring the latest technology, the continuation GT350SR is an even faster, better handling and more comfortable Shelby for the 21st century. Each exclusive continuation Shelby offers value, collectability and performance. As authentic Shelby vehicles, these cars will be included in the next official Shelby American World Registry.
