| Saleen Debuts Iphone App |
Saleen announced it's presence in the technology world today with the release of its own free Apple iPhone app featuring a vehicle configuration utility, Speedlab parts finder, picture gallery, dealer finder, and spec sheets for the lastest Saleen Mustangs. Although there have been a few auto manufacturers that have recently released their own iPhone apps, this one is touted as the first vehicle configuration app on the mobile market. If anything its definitely the first time a niche market manufacturer like Saleen has released their own mobile application. If you'd like to jump right to the itunes store to download it click here.
Mustang Configurator
The vehicle configuration tool is probably our favorite feature of the app. It allows you to configure some of the appearance items on the 2010 Saleen S281, and 2010 Saleen 435S Mustangs. Now you can change the paint color, select different wheels, and choose different aero packages of your favorite Saleen vehicles without ever leaving the security of your iPhone (or iPod Touch). If you've used the Official Ford Mustang Customizer then you'll enjoy this. It also allows you to view the specifications of both vehicles.
Speedlab Parts Finder
The parts finder section of the app gives you the chance to browse through hundreds of official Saleen Speedlab parts for your 2005-2010 Ford Mustang with information and pricing on each part. If you're looking to convert your current ride to a Saleen this part of the app will really come in handy.
Saleen Dealer Finder
This one probably doesn't need much of an explanation, it allows you to search for Saleen dealers by state. It includes the dealer's location, phone number, and website address. When clicked each area opens in its corresponding app on the phone. For example if you click the address it opens in the iPhone's maps app, or if the website address is clicked it opens in the browser.
Saleen Picture Gallery
The gallery feature of the app is actually split into two parts; pictures of the latest Saleen Mustangs and sound clips of their exhaust notes. Although we feel this section of the app could be more in depth, its a nice little addition.
