| Ford Issues Technical Service Bulletin For 2011 Mustang GT |
Hey 2011 Mustang GT owners, have you noticed any clutch related problems with your new ride? If so you're in luck, Ford just released a technical service bulletin today regarding the situation. TSB 10-19-4 affects six speed manual transmission equipped 2011 Mustang GTs built on or before 4/25/2010. The issue accord to Ford is that some low mileage GTs may experience a "clutch stayout problem", meaning the clutch may stick to the floor at high rpms. "The clutch pedal stayout is a condition where at high engine RPM, centrifugal forces on the clutch system can reduce the force with which the clutch diaphragm fingers push against the release bearing. This can result in the clutch pedal staying on the floor until engine RPM decreases and the diaphragm return forces increases."
Owners of 2011 Mustangs covered under the TSB are asked to bring their vehicle to the local Ford dealer to have this problem repaired free of charge under their current warranty.
