|Mustang Beats Camaro In June 2011 Sales
Ford Motor Company greeted us with some awesome news over this holiday weekend. Word is that the Ford Mustang has beaten the Chevy Camaro in sales for the month of June 2011. As I'm sure you remember, in May the Mustang suffered one of its worst months in recent history with a 35% decrease in sales over the same month of the previous year and just 6,607 sales. In June, however, Mustang sales shot up to 8,835 units driving off dealer lots. While that is a 1.5% decrease from June 2010, it is also 349 more units than the 8,486 Camaros that Chevy was able to sell!
Even though the Mustang beat the Camaro last month, strong sales throughout the first half of the year have helped the Camaro keep an overall lead with 48,761 Camaros sold or 9,720 more than the Mustang's total year-to-date sales of 39,041. As for the Mustang's one other rival, the Dodge Challenger, only 3,384 were sold in June and 20,161 so far this year.
