Video: The 2013 Shelby GT500 Unveiled At LA Auto Show
The legendary Carroll Shelby was on hand at the LA Auto Show to help Ford reveal the 2013 Shelby GT500 Mustang. "I think its the greatest Mustang that's ever been built and I think we've done the things we started seven years ago and we're there" said Shelby. When asked which Ford vehicle was his favorite of all time Shelby replied "It has to be the Mustang, the dream of my life. People have always asked what is my favorite car and I've always said the next one. I'm going to take that back tonight, this is my favorite car."
The 2013 Shelby GT500 features a new 5.8L V8 engine topped with an Eaton TVS 2300 series 2.3L supercharger. The result is an amazing output of 650 horsepower and 600 lb/ft of torque which propels the car to a top speed of over 200 mph! The 2013 Shelby GT500 is expected to go on sale in the Spring of 2012.
