| 2012 Boss 302 Engine Makes Wards 10 Best Engines List |
Just days after reporting that Car and Driver chose to put the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 on its list of the 10 Best automobiles of the year, Wards Auto announces that it too has chosen the Boss 302 for a top ten list, this time for one of the 10 Best Engines. This is the second year in a row the Coyote 5.0L was chosen for this list, with the Mustang GT's 5.0L taking the honors last year.
Ford's 5.0L V-8 comes back for a second year on the list, this time in the Mustang Boss 302, a 444-hp beast that pays homage to muscle cars of old, but uses modern overhead cam and aluminum construction, as well as performance enhancements such as Twin-Independent Variable Camshaft Timing.
The Boss Mustang's 5.0L isn't the only Ford powerplant to make the list, the Ford 2.0L Ecoboost turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, which motivates the Edge and Explorer, made it as well.
