1972 was the famous year when Mustangs...well...ok, they didn't change all that much. The only major change was the fact the engines were no longer the powerhouses they started to become in the late 60s. Normal production Ford Mustangs reached all the way up to 375hp from 1969 to 1971 on the most powerful engines, before severely dropping down to 275hp on the highest performing motor. No Boss models or 428/429s were offered. This seems to be the first major step into the low-horsepower and minimum displacement era when the Mustangs were slapped with a "II" symbol.
