2004 was the second year od the widely popular 390 horsepower Cobra and the final year of the body style. Ford's Fox-Body platform was also coming to the end of its run after supporting the Mustang since 1979. On a technical level, not much changed from the `03 models, although the exterior of the Cobras got some extra treatment. The optional Mystichrome paint job was released in 2004. It could almost be treated as a substitute for the missed MysticGold option that was to be offered on the 2002 model.
