Better connection = less resistance, can lead to better idling ect...

thanks for all the replies, i got it running real good now. turns out i was running way to much fuel pressure, turned it back and it idled right down.

Glad to hear you got it worked out. It doesn't help now (obviously) but that does make sense that the fuel pressure was too high. Think about it, when you created a vaccum leak more air was entering the engine which was evening out the air/fuel mixture.

yep, thats exactly right because when i did creat a leak, i could never get the idle below about 1100. thanks again for the help.
