69 fastback opinions?

Hey guys im new here... I m about to start restoring a 69 fastback that me and my dad found about a month ago. What are your opinions on engine choices and color schemes? I want this to be a custom job so no factory schemes Rite now I've found a 514 crate engine 700hp 650 ft. lbs. of torque at keithcraft.com for around 8500$ your opinons will be deeply apprecciated.

that'd be a badass crate motor...i've always been a fan of the white and black schemes, but then again blue w/ the white stripes always looks good...

i dont know what to tell you about the color, thats all up to you, you just abouth cant mess up that car no matter what color you paint it. as far as the motor, that is an awesome motor and will give you eveything you want in that car. my biggest sugestions are in refference to the suspension, brakes and drivetrain. i know you said that it is going to be custom so im sure you will address this problem. if you have any specific questions about it, let me know and ill do my best to answer them

You might want to think about a tie in to the unitized body. It will strengthen the chassis for that type of HP. Just my .02 cents worth.

Re: 69 fastback opinions?

Your definetly going to want to tie the sub frames together. You will also want to check and make sure you have the shock towers with the extra support (assuming you retain the original shock towers). Probably some sort of Monto Carlo bar as well to keep the shock towers from flexing and saging.

Re: 69 fastback opinions?

You'll want heavier springs/shocks in the front for that big motor...
