Lol yeah..

Technical discussion of the V6 and 2.3L Mustang

Lol yeah..

Postby Zach9393 » Mon Oct 06, 2008 1:27 am

so my grandad paid $500 and got a '90 Ranger. Guess what? The transmission seal and the oil pan gasket blew. Sitting for 6 months+driving 50 miles=not good for an engine. thank my grandad for that.

so now we must put a gasket on it. this shall be fun.

btw, it's just a little 4 banger.

Anyway, my stepdad says these thing's wiring harnesses can't hold much more than what they already have. He said it's not good to put an LED kit on one. Is he right? My plan is, if he's right, just to wire it up to the battery and put a fusible link on there. I wanted to put some LEDs under the dash, some lights on the roll bar in the cab, just the simple stuff. So yeah.. now my grandad and I shall have a truck to play around with.

Did I mention it only has 50,00 miles? The guy bought it but only drove it short distances. He lives a block away from his work, and that's all he drove it to. So yeah.. :)

I don't see any big deal with putting some LEDs on it as they usually don't pull many amps to begin with.

As for the transmission I don't have any specific advice but I can say that is pretty simple from what I remember but just a little time consuming.

my grandad can't get the top bolts off, I have no idea on how to. What's the best way to do so?

Is it that he can't reach them or that they're stuck? If he can't reach them usually you need a ratchet, a long extension, and a universal joint.

i don't think so. LED kits work well and are long lasting too.
