So what does everyone think it could be? The first thing that popped into my mind was the Bullitt thats in the works, but since Carroll Shelby is involved I have my doubts. Not to mention that I'd think (hope) they would make more than 500 Bullitt Mustangs.

Maybe a limited edition GT500, or Convertible Shelby GT, or Shelby GT350? If it does turn out to be a Shelby GT convertible I'll be really bummed because Shelby already unveiled such a car last october.

Ok, wanna hear something really weird. Somebody at Autoblog posted about this site and how it's owned by Ford. Well I looked it up and guess what? It turns out Ford does own the site. Of course it could have nothing at all to do with this story, but if you click on the beaker on the left you'll find that they have a countdown clock that seems to count down to a time that's pretty close to the Barrett Jackson auction. Coincidence?

It's such a weird site, and has nothing to do with cars whatsoever so I really don't get the whole joke.

I'm guessing, just because Carrol Shelby is involved, is the GT350.

Shelby GT-H Convertible to be Unveiled at Barrett Jackson

Postby quick5pnt0 » Wed Mar 28, 2007 12:34 pm

For those who don't goto the main page The Car Connection has broke the story that the car to be unveiled is a convertible version of the Shelby GT-H. Just like the Shelby GT-H the convertible will only be available for rental through Hertz. The only one sold will be #001 which is up for auction at Barrett Jackson.

To be honest I'm a little bummed. Like I said above this car isn't some super secret model that we've never seen before. I guess I was just hoping for something more.

There's a couple Shelby GT-H's for sale near here, for $58,900 with like 10k miles. They're at minor dealerships, not anywhere near a big city. I wonder how they got 'em.

If things couldn't get anymore crazy, Autoblog says they now believe that the car to be unveiled at Barrett Jackson is the 2008 Shelby GT500 KR

I'm not sure what to believe.

Turns out this site was to unveil the 2008 Ford Escape. I really didn't get the whole joke. The 2008 Escape is the cure for boredom? WTF?
