Joe DaSilva Tribute

Joe DaSilva, known for his big auto parts company, J&P Performance ( Joe and Paul Performance). If you don't know, Joe has a brother, Paul DaSilva. Paul use to race a lot. A little later Joe started to race by himself at races.

Joe got started racing more and more. In the 2000 NMRA season, Joe was breaking records and having the time of his life. On the way he meant John Gullett. When John came along, John started breaking Joe's records. In one of the NMRA races, the two guys were so quick that they had to go head to head in the finals. Joe won the race. The record battle was getting down to 7.3 second. At the end of the season John Gullett had the quickest time. John's time was 7.315. The NMRA changed some of the weight rules and Joe didn't want to have other cars lighter than his turbo car. Now Joe can be in the Fun Ford events. So, we still have a chance of seeing John Gullett go head to head in a race against each other.

This year Joe was in the first Fun Ford event. Joe didn't win, so well hopefully Joe will come back. This tribute may be short, but if he races more it won't.
