Joe Silva shatters the Pro 5.0 et record!!!
7.62@178

Note: Once again, Joe beat his best time with a 7.393@194.25 !!!!!!!! at Maple Grove. Can six second et's be that far away?

Not only did he win the Fun Ford Spring Shootout event at Desoto Memorial Dragway in Florida, but Joe Silva shattered the Pro 5.0 et record. Joe beat the entire field of hard core 7 second Pro 5.0 cars to become the Spring Shootout champ this year, winning the final with a 7.67.  During the semi's Joe not only set the Fun Ford Weekend et record, but he also blew away the Pro 5.0 record with a 7.62@178.99.
The biggest news of all is the fact that Joe Silva ran a 7.49@187 mph, and a 7.52@189 mph during practice. That's right, the two fastest Pro 5.0 runs in history.
As many of you know, the late "Racin" Jason Betwarda's white gt convertible was the fastest "Pro 5.0" Mustang, running a best of 7.54 in the quarter mile using twin turbos as his power adder(s). Unfortunately since "Racin" Jason used a twin turbo setup his record shattering run was never "official".  The same goes for Pro 5.0 racers "Wild" Bill Devine and Joe Amato who ran 7.63 and 7.64, but since both cars were twin turbo powered the runs were never officially recorded.
The score is now officially set, with Joe Silva of J&P Performance holding the Pro 5.0 record beating even the likes of the great "Racing" Jason.
What's in this car that makes it so fast you may be asking? Well here is the answer, Joe runs a single turbo powered 414ci in his 98 GT with a liberty 5 speed.

Congratulations to Joe Silva and the J&P Performance team!
Great work guys!
