| Q. I am a proud new owner of a 99 SVT Cobra Mustang. However i'd like to modify it to gain higher performance. What can someone do to up the HP and pickup on a lower budget ? |
| A. Just
like any other Mustang one of the things you can do to your Cobra to make it feel alot
better is a set of rear end gears. 3.73's (or higher) will do alot of good to make the car
feel alot faster. Some other budget minded things you can do to the car is install a cat-back exhaust system, which will make it sound alot nicer and will add a few ponies too. Then you can remove the air silencer and get a cold air induction kit with a K&N air filter for it. As you get money things like underdrive pulleys, h-pipes, and headers are the next set of mods to make the car run alot better. Of course, if you really wanted to feel a big power gain you could save some money up and drop a supercharger under the hood. Nitrous is probably the best bang for the buck, but you have to be very careful with it. Don't try adding a 300hp shot and expect the engine to last forever...LOL |
| Q. Does the sunroof in my stang come out? If so then how do i get it out? |
| A. Yes it does come out. First open the sunroof as usual. Then on the latch of your sunroof there are two silver clips or levers that have to be squeezed together then pulled down. Carefully pull the sunroof up and back. There are two metal brackets that hold it in place. So to get it out just pull slightly up and back and the sunroof should pull right out. |
| Q. My idle goes up and down, whats wrong? |
| A. It could be many different things. The most common problems are dirty iab motors and throttle bodies and vaccum leaks. Try cleaning the throttle body and iab motor, and while the engine is running listen for hissing sounds which could possibly be a vaccum leak. |
