With a roots-type ROUSHcharger system (more info on this below), a water-to-air intercooler, high-flow fuel injectors, a new aluminum intake manifold, exclusive Roush ECU calibration, and a performance-tuned exhaust system the Stage 3 makes 417 horsepower and about 380 ft/lbs of torque. Other additions that make up the Stage 3 Roush Mustang include a Roush Performance Products handling package, including front and rear coil springs, front and rear stabilizer bars, front struts, and rear shocks which allow it to achieve a lateral acceleration of over 1g on a skidpad.
"We went the extra mile on our suspension tuning. We've always been known for horsepower, but with this offering, enthusiasts are really going to take notice of our handling and suspension dynamics," said Joe Thompson, general manager of Roush Performance.

2005-2006 Ford Mustang ROUSHcharger
At this years SEMA show Roush also introduced a roots type supercharger dubbed the ROUSHcharger for the 4.6L 3V 2005-2005 Ford Mustang GT.
RPP engineers have developed a Roots-type ROUSHcharger and companion aluminum intake manifold that generates approximately 5 psi of boost. The package includes a large, free-flowing air-to-water intercooler used to cool and condense the ROUSHcharger's intake air for added performance. Additional features of the system include a larger fresh air inlet, low-restriction air filter, and large diameter clean air tube.
When equipped with high-flow fuel injectors and lower-heat-range spark plugs are also included in the fully integrated package, the ROUSHcharger produces 430 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 385 foot-pounds of torque at 4500 rpm on the 4.6-liter 3-valve GT V-8 engine.

In 1966, Jack Roush started a lifelong love affair with fast cars and drag racing. Now, almost 40 years later, Roush Performance Products is taking the Roush name back to the drag strip with a new line of heavy-duty parts for drag racing-the Roush Performance Competition Parts line.
During the SEMA show yesterday Jack Roush announced it's new line of competition parts and it's grassroots racing effort in the upcoming NMRA (National Mustang Racers Association) drag racing season. "Roush will field a number of Mustang and other Ford race cars that will be used to develop the new line of competition parts that will incrementally increase performance."
"This is the next step in the evolution of Roush Performance Parts (RPP) components, performance-enhancing pieces that have been developed on Roush Performance Products' own vehicles in a drag racing environment," said Ryan Bunn, Roush Performance Parts Marketing Manager, "Our parts are race-tested so that the customer is always getting the strongest, highest-quality part."
