|2010 Mustang Spy Shots
It feels like we've been waiting forever and thankfully that wait is nearly over. According to Ford Motor Company they plan to officially unveil the redesigned 2010 Ford Mustang on November 19th at the Los Angeles Auto Show and with that in mind we thought you, the visitor, would enjoy seeing the tons of spy shots that have been caputured leading up to it's debut.
Below you'll find a complete list of every spy shot we could find and links to the sites where they were originally posted. The thumbnails we've posted of the spy shots are usually only a small glimpse of the quantity of images each site has so be sure to visit the "more images" link for each vehicle. Enjoy!
10/20/08 - (original article) A member of the Great Lakes 4x4 website posted these pictures taken of the 2010 Mustang sitting in the parking lot of a strip mall.
9/19/08 - (original article) (more images) You would think that if Ford was trying to keep the wraps on the 2010 Mustang they'd keep them in dark alleys not driving in large herds. Jalonik reader Christine caught a couple of camouflaged test mules on Detroit's I-94 freeway and decided to snap these shots.
9/18/08 - (original article) (more images) These spy shots, caught by KGP Photography, are of what looks to be a blue base model V6. They give a good view of the restyled front end, including the newly shaped grille, new headlights, hood, and lower bumper.
9/18/08 - (more images) Here are more spy shots captured by KGP but this time they actually were able to get a few shots of the interior. We can't for the life of us understand why but this particular test mule actually was strutting around with window stickers on it, almost as if they just pulled it off the dealer lot. Some have speculated that this may have been an attempt by Ford to get some free press as it's unlikely they left the window stickers there by mistake.
9/18/08 - (more images) Could this be a 2010 Shelby GT500 Convertible? Autoblog seems to think so and we have to agree. The larger wheels, different front bumper, and vented hood definitely point in that direction. Its great to see that Ford is still planning on producing the GT500 even with today's economy and high fuel prices.
9/09/08 - (original article) This picture was captured by V8Limited, a member of The Mustang Source forums. According to the photographer "The front looks pretty good, the hood comes out farther over the grille and the lights are shorter. The gauges look sweet, but the window sticker prevented me from getting a good shot". Thats right folks, yet another test mule running around with window stickers.
9/09/08 - (original article) (more images) A guy named Rob sent these pictures to Jalopnik of a 2010 Mustang GT test mule decked out in it's sexy leopard skin underwear.
9/04/08 - (original article) (more images) Ford must have decided to switch things up this day so instead of the leopard skin camouflage the car is covered in leather. What is special about these pics are the close up shots of the headlights which clearly show bezels very reminiscent of the early 70s Mustang.
8/20/08 - (original article) OK so this isn't really a spy shot in the traditional sense, but it does give a very clear look at where Ford is going with the design of the 2010 Mustang. This picture of what is supposedly the 2010 Mustang hood was taken by a member of the MustangForums. Word is that the photographer's father worked in a tool and die factory where he took this image. Whether it's the real deal is impossible to say but if so you can see that Ford is going for a much sharper look this time around.
7/21/08 - (more images) These pictures, oddly enough, were given to us by Ford Motor Company. On this day Ford decided to treat the Mustang enthusiasts by bringing out a heavily camo'd 2010 Mustang test mule to acted as the pace car for the Kohler International Challenge vintage race at Road America.
6/19/08 - (original article) (more images) These images give a clear view of the Mustang's new taillights and rear emblem. Actually the emblem itself is missing but as you can see from the side by side picture the bezel around the emblem has been redesigned.
6/16/08 - (original article) (more images) These two pictures were taken by an Autoblog reader Chris F. in Zurich IL. Chris claims he was told that both vehicles on site were base model 4.0L V6s one of which was sporting the glass roof option.
6/12/08 - (original article) (more images) More 2010-2011 Shelby GT500 spy shots? You bet. This one was sporting Sparco EVO2 bucket seats, though it's unlikely those will make it to production unless this is some sort of special R model.
6/09/08 - (original article) (more images) We believe these may be the first spy shots caught of the 2010 Shelby GT500. This one, which was running around the streets of Detroit, was still wearing the same wheels from the previous GT500.
6/04/08 - (original article) (more images) You're not likely to see any better images of the redesigned 2010 Mustang headlights than these, at least not until the car is unveiled. KGP took these photos along with some of the first shots caught of the Mustang's interior.
6/04/08 - (original article) (more images) Autoblog reader Brandon R. saw this 2010 Ford Mustang test mule driving on the highway and was able to get close enough to take a few pics. According to Brandon when the driver realized pictures were being taken he slammed on his brakes and pulled over. Luckily Brandon was able to get some pictures beforehand.
4/30/08 - (original article) (more images) Another great image of the restyled headlights.
2/08/08 - (original article) (more images) Brian Willliams (for Brenda Priddy) caught these pictures of what is apparently a 2010 Mustang GT. If you take a close look at the image on the left you'll see a pretty crazy coincidence, the GT logo on the train passing by in the rear. It even sort of resembles the Mustang's GT logo!
1/10/08 - (original article) (more images) More front and rear spy shots of the 2010 Ford Mustang GT.
1/03/08 - (original article) (more images) More pictures of a 2010 Mustang test mule. This one is wearing blacked out Shelby GT500 wheels, possibly for testing a larger brake package or who knows, maybe it's a GT500 test mule.
12/06/07 - (original article) (more images) We believe these to be the first true pictures of a 2010 Ford Mustang test mule. Although we had previously seen pictures of what was said to be an '10 test mule it was still wearing the previous model's body work so if anything it was a powertrain test mule. This one however looks to be the real deal.
