Ford Chief Creative Officer J Mays Speaks About 2014 Mustang

In this video Ford Motor Company Chief Creative Officer J Mays briefly speaks about the impact of global design on the 2014 Mustang. "As we approach what is a very exciting time, 2014, the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang, you can feel the weight on the design team's shoulders that we get this thing right. Its going to be a very exciting car". Although it seems to be common knowledge these days this is probably the first time we have heard from a Ford official confirming that Ford is indeed looking to create a complete redesign of the Mustang in 2014, for its 50th Anniversary.

Earlier this year we heard much speculation that the next generation Ford Mustang would be built on a global platform shared with the Australian Falcon and possibly even a flagship model Lincoln sedan. This led many Mustang enthusiasts to contemplate the Mustang's future as a true pony car. Thankfully Mays was able to put those fears to rest as he also confirmed that the Mustang would stay true to its roots. Feel free to skip to about the 2:10 mark to hear his comments on the 2014 Mustang.
