Update: The Tony Hawk Foundation Mustang sold for $57,000 at the Barrett Jackson Orange County Auction.
The Tony Hawk Foundation announced this morning that a specially built 2011 Ford Mustang GT will be sold at this weekend's Barrett Jackson Auction held at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California. All proceeds from auction will benefit the Center for Living Peace and the Tony Hawk Foundation. The winning bidder of the "Hawkized Stang", as it has been nicknamed, will also get a package which includes a dinner with world renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk, autographed merchandise, tickets to the annual Stand Up For Skateparks event in Las Vegas and a taco party for 50 catered by Wahoo’s Fish Taco’s.
“This is one of only two cars designed specifically for Tony Hawk and we are extraordinarily pleased to have such a crown jewel of an automobile in our Orange County auction,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett Jackson. Craig Jackson, Barrett Jackson's chairman and CEO continues, “The Hawkized vehicle will be auctioned to benefit the Center for Living Peace and the Tony Hawk Foundation, both of which are organizations that inspire children to find their sense of purpose and boost their self-confidence. It is a sincere pleasure to support their efforts at our Orange County Auction this year and their participation in the auction will exponentially contribute to the overall success of our unique lifestyle event.”
The Tony Hawkized Mustang will cross the auction block this Saturday night, June 25th as Lot #362. The 2011 Mustang GT features a custom Katzkin leather interior and a 5.0 liter V8 tuned to produce 425 hp. For the exterior, Galpin Auto Sports gave it a Street Scene body kit, upper and lower side scoops, custom grille, and tinted lights. DUB contributed a set of TIS three-piece wheels and Pirelli Tires. A Flowmaster exhaust system and Ford Racing lowering springs were installed to produce an aggressive stance. The car includes a cutting edge JL audio system and a customized paint job incorporating a “Hawkized” logo on the hood, as well as a Tony Hawk monogram emblazoned on the side.
“I’m proud to have created this custom Mustang with the help of DUB and Galpin Ford. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind ride, and the proceeds from this sale will benefit two great causes that support youth,” says Tony Hawk.
