Saleen's Parnelli Jones Mustang
Fabulous vehicle, though a bit pricey! I like the 302 version of the 4.6 (all Ford performance engines should be marketed in cubic inches instead of in liters), and who can't like 370 HP without power adders? The high compression sorta negates adding boost later, though...
Things I like: The engine, the engine, the engine, the memories of the great Parnelli Jones, the wide tires, the Minilite (or Minilite replicas) wheels, the black-painted rear panel that has that awful Mustang GT faux gas cap removed, the hood pins, the paint job, and the slats.
Things I don't like: The rear wing (I don't like any rear wings), the hood scoop (I don't like any hood scoops), and that "WTF-were-they-thinking" stainless steel "rim" around the taillights and black-painted rear panel!!
I was a young man when Parnelli raced Boss 302s (I saw him win at Laguna Seca in No. 15 in 1970), and those Boss 302s never raced with a rear wing or with a hood scoop or with a "rim" around the taillights and black-painted rear panel!!! They didn't race with the rear-window slats, either, but I must admit they do look cool!
LET'S HEAR IT FOR STEVE SALEEN AND PARNELLI JONES!!!
