Saleen Parnelli Jones Special Edition (pics inside)

As i posted on the front page a few days ago Saleen is about to introduce a limited edition Parnelli Jones Saleen Mustang at the Ny Auto Show. Well so far we haven't seen any pics of it, but we did get this "spy shot".

A guy named Phil Frank sent along what was titled the "Saleen Parnelli Jones Spy shot". It looks like a photoshopped picture to me, but i thought it was pretty cool looking anyway so i figured i'd post it up to get everyone's opinion.

Guess i was wrong about that shot above being a photoshopped picture. Here are some shots from Autoblog of the Saleen Parnelli Jones Mustang.

"302 cid V8 that produces 370 SAE hp and 370 ft-lbs. of torque at a low, low, low 4,000 RPM"

More pics, these from Autoweek
I'm trying to get some high res shots of this car, when i do i'll post the link to them here.

"The Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang, due this fall as a 2007 model, gets the same orange-and-black paint scheme and period-specific trim pieces as the original. Under the shaker hood Saleen stuffs a modern 302-cid, 370-hp, 370-lb-ft three-valve V8. Saleen promises just 500 copies of the Parnelli Jones Mustang, priced in the mid-to-high-$50,000 range."

That car looks pretty awesome but 50 grand is alot for that car they need to add more hp to it also for it to compete with the new cars coming out since every new sports car coming out has more then 400 hp. I guess it cost so much since there will be a limited amount of them but which is a better deal though the new shelby for 39 or 40 msrp with 475 to 485hp or this one for 50 msrp with only 370hp?

Well the thing is that Saleen will only be making up to 500 of these and Ford will be making something like 7500 GT500's so the Saleen will be much more of a collector car. Besides that Saleen's in general seem to have a higher price, but they usually keep their value over a longer period.

BTW There is somebody on ebay trying to make a buck off of one of these already.

Yeah i figured it was costing that much since there wont be many of them i think it should be the other way around i think they should have done that with the shelbys made less and with this car made 7500 a year i mean im glad that there making more shlebys so i have the chance to own one but yet im not cause that means alot more people will have one and when more people have them when you see one on the street then its no big deal but when theres not alot made and you see one on the road its like wow you know like when you a supercar like a 150 grand ford GT or a lamborgini you know how it gets you all excited and stuff when you see one well me it does i dont think that will happen with the new shelby if more people have them you know what i mean.
