2003 cobra cluster in 1996

Does anyone know if a 2003/2004 cobra gauge cluster will work in a 1996 GT? I have seen it before but I don't know if I would have to modify the wiring. If it won't work will a '96 or '97 cobra cluster work? I am picking up a '96 GT Tuesday and I came across a 2003 cobra cluster for a good deal.

I did a quick search on ebay and found clusters from each year and the plugs looked to be different between '03 and '96. It would probably be a much easier swap to put a '96 Cobra cluster in there.

Are you looking to do it for the speedo or just for the white faced gauges? If it's just for the gauges then the easiest thing to do would be to buy a white face gauge kit. Although I will say that I'm not too crazy about the white faced gauges in my car. They look great during the day, and are bright enough at night but during those couple of hours between light/dark it's next to impossible to see the numbers on the gauges.

Both. I have installed white faced gauges before and I really didn't enjoy doing it so I was hoping I could just put a Cobra cluster in. Most white faced kits for this year only go up to 150mph too.
