5.4 L lightning GT?

With all horsepower the new GT 500s have, I just can't stand it any more. I love my 06 GT (photo attached) and it runs **** good with the power adders it has.

So - next best thing (?) to pull the 4.6L engine and swap for a 5.4L F-150 Lightning engine with the supercharger and DOHC heads. Of course this would be a scrapyard motor so it would go through a tight inspection and upgrade any parts known to common failure.

Searching the Internet I think a 2003 engine would do the trick but I don't have the foggyest idea if it would even fit. AS far as wiring and all of that stuff - where there's will there's a way.

On the other hand - I know where there is a 4.6L DOHC engine in a junkyard Lincoln. And a supercharger. This combo in a 2003 Cobra made 390 hp. I havent checked yet so I don't know if it is a cast iron block or not.

Either way, it's going to be a lot of work - my main goal: make some kick-ass horsepower with an engine I can max out - and still have the factory engine crated up.

Do you have any pros/cons for either of these two options?

I'm not certain if the shock towers were altered to make the 5.4L fit in the GT500 but I can guarantee that it'll take a good amount of fabricating to get one to fit in your GT.

As for the Lincoln motor I'm not sure that thing is even remotely the same as the motor that came in the Cobra.

Personally I think you're going through too much trouble to get the same amount of horsepower you could get by just bolting a supercharger kit to your current engine.

I've seen a 5.4 in a crown vic before. He said it wasn't too much fabricating but he did need to cut a hole in the hood for the blower because he couldn't find a cowl induction hood for it.
