1995 Cobra Ignition Timing Jumping With Spout Removed

Car description: 1995 Cobra 5.0 5 speed coupe. Approx 190K Miles. Completely stock except for Flowmaster mufflers. Bought this thing a week ago.

Excellent oil pressure. Good idle quality. Runs cool. Has new alternator and radiator. No pinging.

Symptoms car has: LOW power! It actually seems to accelerate better at slight part throttle than at half or full throttle. Slowest Cobra ever...

This one's a head scratcher. We used a Determinator scanner (kinda like the older Snap-On computers) to look at ignition timing in real time, Spout removed, and the timing jumps around like it would with the Spout installed. Previous owner said he had timing set at 12. We haven't been able to set timing because of above-described issue.

Scanner is showing O2 sensors as rich.

What we've replaced: spark plugs, air filter, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, plug wires. Added BG 44k injector cleaner and drove it 100 miles.

Any ideas? Thanks in Advance!

(Also got an '01 GT 5 speed that runs great! Just has worn-out front suspension components. I'll save that one for later...)

Didn't figure out the timing jumping...just set it old school by moving distributor until it felt decent.

Car runs great now - turned out it was a dirty MAF sensor. Cleaned it with the CRC product and it picked up about 100 HP!
