another engine?

I own a 92 mustang gt with a five speed and the engine is the original, it has over 200,000 miles on it and it smokes while driving sometimes, especially when I get down on it the power isn't there like it used to be. But here is the deal I came across another engine that was in a 93 thunderbird with the 5.0 HO intake on it and the headers are still attached to, I have some experience with working on engines and swapping motors but what I need to know is what do I need to keep from my engine (mustang ) to go on the (thunderbird) to make the swap. Is the intake and exhaust manifold from the t'bird better or is my intake and exhaust better. I am open for advice before I make any engine swap.

To be honest i'm not 100% sure which parts are compatible. I do know the headers are different so they will have to be swapped. I'd be willing to bet the oilpan/pickup tube are different so they'll also have to be swapped. Everything else is a crap shoot. Some stuff may or may not swap over but worse comes to worse you'll have all of the parts from your old motor to put on there so it should be a problem.
As for the intake they "may" be identical,.

The intake should be identical if its an H.O. intake... if its pointing to the drives side instead of the passenger side, the beauty of this design is you can just flip the upper around to point the right way(i know my 88 crown vic had the tbody on the drivers side) everything else should be compatible... the t-bird is a fox based car like your mustang, so almost anything you want off that as far as suspension or axles should be compatible also...
