67 Convertible Brake Conversion

Good day,

I have recently bought a 67 Convertible and am inquiring about a brake conversion from some of you experts. This car is an original all drum brake car and would like to convert it over to disk. I am pretty mechanically talented as I have been a diesel mechanic for 17 years and have helped rebuild a couple of mustang classic coupes. I am unsure if I would need to convert to a power brake system with a brake booster, proportioning valve ect.. or if the stock master cylinder would be sufficient. Also as far as value of the upgrade would it be worth the $ spent on the upgrade in resale value if I choose to resell it, keeping the original parts of course. Any advise or opinions welcomed.

Re: 67 Convertible Brake Conversion

I believe most if not all of the conversion kits come with a new master cylinder and proportioning valve.

As for resale value you rarely ever get your full investment back with modifications. Though if any mod is going to add value to the vehicle a brake upgrade would be it.
