84 gt tire question

I HAVE AN 84 GT CONVERTIBLE 5.0 tHE STOCK WHEELS ARE 14IN. 55 SERIES. THE ONLY MANUFACTUER OF THESE TIRES IS MICHELIN. VERY EXPENSIVE. I AM CONSIDERING NEW 14 IN. WHEELS AND TIRES. WHAT WOULD BE YOUR CHOICE FOR THIS CAR. 14 -60 SERIES OR ?. YOUR INPUT IS APPRECIATED. ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THIS CAR. NEEDS NEW RETRACTABLE SEAT BELTS AND SOME MISSING INTERIOR TRIM. THANKS

I dont know much about the tire sizes, but have heard about the tires being expensive for certain size tires of older mustangs. Most people in that situation usually go with late model pony rims or something like that.

Mustang parts specialties might have that part you are looking for but they aren't cheap.

Why would you stay with 14" rims with all the nice 15" and 16" choices that are so cheap from late model cars. You can search many places and find 16" Ponies with tires for under $400 and gain a better ride and handling and they look really nice on the early cars.

I agree he should go with a set of pony rims, but alot of people like the older look with the 14's so i can't blame him for going with what he likes.
