Roush BlackJack Convertible

Here's another press release from Roush Performance. This time they're talking about a one off convertible version of the Roush BlackJack Mustang.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LIVONIA, Mich. (March 21, 2007) - It is well-known that only 100 of the new 2007 ROUSH Stage 3 BlackJack Mustangs will be built, and it was initially thought that all of those would be coupes. However, one will be built as a convertible and auctioned off to a lucky bidder during the March 24 Celebrity Fight Night extravaganza at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix.

The Celebrity Fight Night has been recognized as one of the nation's elite charity events and has become a star-studded evening presented in honor of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. Celebrities and professional athletes from all over the country participate in a night filled with incredible live auction items and musical performances by many of today's brightest stars. Attendees over the years are a "Who's-Who" from the sports, entertainment and music worlds, and includes Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Shaquille O'Neal, Sugar Ray Leonard, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and dozens more "A-List" celebrities.

Throughout the Celebrity Fight Night's twelve year history more than $38 million has been raised with the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute as the primary beneficiary. Numerous other charities have benefited and countless lives have been changed thanks to the tremendous generosity of the supporters.

ROUSH Performance, in partnership with Sanderson Ford of Glendale, Ariz., has offered to donate the only convertible 2007 ROUSH Stage 3 BlackJack Mustang to be built. And if the exclusivity of this car wasn't enough, motorsports legend Jack Roush has agreed to schedule a dinner with the lucky winning bidder during the November NASCAR races when they return to Phoenix International Raceway.

Lucky number 13 is the vehicle serial number of this black-on-black Mustang, and Jack Roush's heritage as the winningest name in racing
reverberates throughout the vehicle, starting with the powertrain. The
polished ROUSHcharger* system with a smaller pulley boosts the horsepower to 430 (with 400 lb.-ft. torque). Enthusiast drivers will immediately notice the handling of the vehicle has been improved by the addition of the ROUSH Stage 3 suspension package.

Aesthetics were also a big part of Roush's vision for the Stage 3 BlackJack, starting with the matte black 21-inch stripe across the center of the black paint and the addition of the seven-piece ROUSH aerobody kit. Polished billet aluminum accessories, such as radiator, oil and strut tower caps, can be found throughout the engine compartment which contributes to the exciting package.

Interior upgrades include charcoal leather seating with an embroidered
Stage 3 BlackJack logo, white electroluminescent gauges, billet aluminum
pedal kit and short throw shifter with black shifter ball. The car comes
standard with the ROUSH carbon fiber design dash trim kit and embroidered floor mats. Even the door sills have been upgraded in this model.

A ROUSH Stage 3 BlackJack serialized badge is riveted to the engine compartment, along with a Stage 3 signature badge which is personally engraved with the signature of the ROUSH Performance technician which hand-assembled the vehicle in the company's Livonia, Mich., facility.

Money raised from the auction of the ROUSH Stage 3 BlackJack Mustang and other items benefits a number of local and national organizations
including the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute which provides diagnostic and treatment services, research, and education for those whose lives have been touched by Parkinson's disease. In addition to clinical services, the Center conducts extensive research in new medical and surgical treatments for Parkinson's disease and related disorders.

Whoa....That'll bring in a couple bucks eh. It's great the money goes to charity, but I wonder if any of these people bidding think they'll ever get their money back at a future sale...............

2007 ROUSH Stage 3 BlackJack Mustang Convertible Auction

Unless the muscle cars of today explode in value like the muscle cars of the 60's have I doubt any of these cars will ever exceed what people are paying for them.

The way I've always felt is that you should never buy a car as an investment because it rarely ever works out that way. With a car like this you really have to go into buying it just because you like it and want to help the charity.

As for what it'll go for, that's hard to say. I'm sure it will bring a pretty good number. I'll try to find out what it is and post it here.
