quick5pnt0 I've known people who have done trades similar to this. The basics of it are you bring the car back and they offer you a certain price for it. Its possible that the price they are offering you is less than what you still have to pay on your current car at which point you'd be adding that difference to the price of the GT.
You could always goto the dealer and see what they say, it's not like you'd be forced to take the GT if they payments were too much.

Good luck with the ride.

Hey, RV8R, you took the V6 back for the GT after around 8000 miles? How does that generally work, as far as trading in your basically new car for an upgrade at the same dealer? I know the value of the car drops a good bit as soon as you drive off the lot, so I imagine it would be at a bit of a loss if you didn't have a big down payment?
I LOVE my V6... best car by far I have ever owned... and PLENTY of power and speed... but there's still that little voice in the back of my head that wonders what the big boy would be like.

RV8R I just have to add my two cents, even if the original post is six months old. Back on March 31, 05 I walked into the local Ford dealer to order a 05 Mustang GT Convertable, and was told I couldn't get one, but they did have a V6 convert. automatic on the lot. I had test driven a V6 manual at another dealer and it had more power than my 95 GT so I bought the vert, and I loved it. Even the automatic would burn the tires if you got just a little agressive with it and it had the smoothest 5 sp automatic transmission I had ever driven. Drove it a total of 8766 miles without any complaints at all, but being a typical mustang guy, I had to have more ponies. The dealer called me in June and said they remembered that I wanted a GT and that someone had ordered one and backed out of the deal. Do I want it..... Ans.- Not only Yes, but H... Yes. Took delivery in August.. Do I like the GT better?.... H... Yes!! BTW: This Dealer is best I've ever dealt with. They make you feel like one of the family and they don't do the MSRP + Premium thing.

05 V6 mustang

I special ordered a V6 and got it hopted up at the ford factory (its still considered stock) and Im pumping 325 HP and I only paid $20,000 for it.I have more power than the GT and i paid about $11,000 less. I have the shaker 1000 sound system and Im amazed by the performance i get out of it.Im completely satisfied with my purchas.

I was thinking of doing 1 of 2 things. I was either gonna get a a GT rear bumper Valance or take it to a body shop and have them make another cut just like the other so I can add the tips to it. Give me any ideas.
I had a body shop cut the extra hole in the existing rear bumper apron. It doesn't have the extra curl back like the right side but you can't see or tell if the new hole has the cut back or not. It is the cheapest way to do it as they cut the hole identical to the other and then they added a clear coat paint to the cut area to insure there is no peeling of the paint. It took approx. 15 min. to due but that could be because I had a friend in the business, but I can't see it taking very long.
